This table shows the percentages of women and men who have married by specific ages, according to their current age. Sixteen percent of women age 20-49 married by age 15, and 41 percent married by age 18. The proportion of women who were married by age 15 and age 18 rises substantially with increasing age. For example, 25 percent of women in the 45-49 age group married by age 15, as compared with only 6 percent of those age 15-19. Almost no men age 20-49 married by age 15, and only 2 percent married
before their 18th birthday.
