The 2025 Gambia Labour Force Survey Findings Report - Analytical Report (revised edition)

REVISION NOTE: Following the initial release of The Gambia Labour Force Survey (GLFS) 2025 Analytical Report, a number of revisions have been made. A new table, Table 12.1b – Distribution of international migrants by country of birth, has been added to provide additional detail on the origin profile of the foreign-born population. The calculation of SDG Indicator 5.5.2 (proportion of women in managerial positions) has been revised for GLFS 2025 to align with ISCO‑08 (International Standard Classification of Occupations, 2008 revision), replacing the previously used ISCO‑88 classification, to ensure consistency with current international standards. A small number of values and charts have been corrected to address human errors identified after publication. These corrections affect only the reported percentages, while the underlying weighted counts remain accurate and unchanged. The female informal employment rate has been corrected from 82.3 per cent to 86.3 per cent. The GLFS 2022‑23 report originally reported 36.1 per cent for SDG Indicator 5.5.2 using ISCO‑08 data but applying the ISCO‑88 classification (codes 11 and 12 only). Following the correct ISCO‑08 methodology (codes 11, 12, and 13), the estimate has been revised to 29.7 per cent. All comparative analyses in this report have been updated accordingly.

Revision Note: Due to an error during the population of Word tables from Excel analysis outputs, the informal employment rate for women was incorrectly reported as 82.3% in the GLFS 2025 Labour Force Snapshot. The correct figure is 86.3% (total informal employment: 85.3%).
